*E. KUNTZE SUPERPOSED COMBINATION GUN. Cal. 16 ga./8X57JR. SN 312. Fine German made combination rifle/shotgun with 26-3/4″ bbls, flat full length matted rib with pedestal mounted front sight, fixed rear sight & claw mount bases with dbl lump, sgl Greener crossbolt extension & extractors. Receiver is dbl scalloped boxlock with reinforcements, cocked indicators & a Greener crossbolt. It is wonderfully engraved with vignettes of a raebuck & duck on the left side, two auerhaun on the right side, surrounded with well-executed foliate arabesque patterns with stippled background. It is mounted with very highly figured burl honey & chocolate French walnut with checkered schnable tipped forearm & pistol grip stock with raised side panels & deep cheek piece, 13-3/4″ over a basket weave pressed horn buttplate. It has a horn trigger guard with dbl triggers, front being set for the rifle. Accompanied by four boxes containing 67 rds of 8X57JR ammunition. One of the 20-rd boxes is a very early DWM production & another is a 10-rd box of Norma with two boxes of modern Norma. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-96% strong orig blue. Receiver retains 85-90% dark orig case colors. Wood is sound showing light to moderate wear with light nicks & scratches and retains most of its orig finish. Trigger guard has a repair at the front end. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. Ammunition is fine. 4-56470 JR647 (1,750-2,750)
