*GREIFELT GERMAN DRILLING. Cal. 16X16/8X57JR. SN 34958. Fine boxlock drilling with 26″ bbl cluster, flat tapered matted rib with caterpillar front sight, articulated rear sight, Greener rib extension with dbl bite & extractors. Shotgun bbls are choked FULL/MOD. The rifle is marked with the orig owner’s name “Frieor. Muller. Aschersceben”. “It is mounted with very nicely figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & left hand pistol grip stock with raised side panels, 14″ over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Receiver is dbl scalloped boxlock with light reinforcements on the sides & side clips with Greener crossbolt, three cocked indicators on the top & a thumb switch on the top tang for the rifle bbl. Front trigger is set for the rifle bbl & the left side of the wrist has a Greener thumb safety. The bbls & stock have sling loops. Bottom of the receiver is marked “GREIFELT & CO / SUHL”. Bottom of the bbls is dated “10/31”. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retains 96-97% strong bright orig blue. Receiver retains about all of its fine orig case colors, strong & bright on the sides & about half the bottom with the front half fading to silver. Trigger guard retains about 75% case colors, mostly bright. Wood is sound with light nicks & scratches and retains most of its orig factory finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores that need cleaning. 4-57179 JR704 (1,500-2,500)
