*CASED WINCHESTER MODEL 42 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 38799. Fine special order 42 with 28″ plain full choke bbl chambered 3″ with sgl bead. It has straight grain American walnut wood with rnd ribbed forearm & straight stock, 14-1/4″ over an old English pad. It does not appear that the stock was cut when the pad was added. It is accompanied by an unusual, French-made rawhide, red felt-lined, trunk case, which contains an instruction manual for the Model 42 that has the serial number written on the front with the date “March 1938”. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain 96-97% strong orig blue with light wear on the magazine tube. Receiver has a few light scratches on the sides and the finish is slightly thinned on the bottom, otherwise retains 97-98% strong orig blue with a few scattered freckles of very fine, very light surface rust. Wood is sound and retains most of an old restored finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. Case is very fine. 4-56433 JR578 (1,250-1,750)
