ASSOCIATED SET OF 22 ROYAL WORCESTER SCENIC PLATES OF BRITISH ESTATES & GARDENS, ARTIST SIGNED. The lot is a combination of a set of twelve hand painted plates with the Worcester backstamp and datemark of 1929; each plate titled with the name of the property and depicting the residence in the center of the plate framed by trees with titles such as “Wick”, “Welford on Avon”, “Cropthorne” all painted by either C. Creese or N. Ayrton. The second group of ten plates depicting garden landscapes with the Worcester backstamp and datemark of 1901 titled in script with names such as “Princess Charlottes Garden. Claremont”, “The Lake at Bramham Park. Yorkshire”, all signed by artist R. Rushton. SIZE: 10-3/4″ dia.; 10-1/2″ dia. respectively. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: Generally very good, three with minor knife marks. The ten garden series in very good overall condition with the exception of one plate with a shallow, 1/2″ diameter rim chip lower left corner facing. 9-23551 (2,000-3,000)
