*SCARCE FOX CE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 14086. Philadelphia Fox with 28″ bbls, choked FULL/IMP-MOD with tapered matted rib, sgl bead, bbl extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. It is mounted in very beautiful highly figured Circassian walnut with full checkered splinter forearm & Prince of Wales stock with checkered raised side panels, 14-3/8″ over a solid red recoil pad. Receiver is beautifully engraved with vignettes of two quail on the left side, two woodcock on the right side & a bird dog on point on the bottom. It is surrounded by patterns of light foliate arabesque engraving, which extends about 1-1/2″ over the chambers & has the maker’s name on each side. Drop at the heel 2-1/2”, drop at the comb 1-1/2”. Bbl restrictions: left – .030, right – .014. Weight 7 lbs 7.3 oz: CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain virtually all of a fine professionally restored finish with one or two minor chemical spots on the bottom rib. Receiver retains 50-60% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a hairline on the left side and a small repaired chip at the toe, otherwise the wood is sound & retains most of an extremely fine professionally restored finish.
