RUSSIAN GOLD CIGARETTE CASE BY MOROZOV. Lovely Russian gold cigarette case is cast with sunburst reeding. Lid is further decorated with applied gold souvenirs; some of the applied souvenirs are enameled or jeweled including a badge of the Order of St. Stanislas. The case is finished with a cabochon sapphire thumb piece. Interior of the lid is has an engraved inscription in Finnish which translates “Viktor Sahlberg From Friends and Colleagues”. Inscription is dated “14 July 1925”. Interior of case is hallmarked with work master’s initials “IP” and “Morozov” in Cyrillic as well as the “56 Standard”. Cigarette case is accompanied by a red leatherette fitted box. SIZE: 2-5/8″ x 4″. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with a tiny dent to the edge of the case below the thumb piece. 9-23164 (6,500-8,500)
