*RARE EXQUISITE CASED BROWNING ACTION & STYLE B-25; GRADE HEIDELBERG D4G SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 54887S75. Exceptionally fine Browning with 27-5/8″ bbls having a Broadway style rib with white Bradley front bead and semi-beavertail 3-pc forearm. End of the rib is open, but does not appear to have been cut. It is choked IMP-CYL/IMP-CYL. #2 bbls have a narrow tapered hand matted rib with fine silver bead and a 3-pc tulip forearm and choked MOD/IMP-CYL. It is mounted with exceptional, highly figured, marble cake honey & chocolate Circassian walnut with satin oil finish, square grip long tang stock with raised teardrop side panels, 14-3/8″ over a skip-line checkered hard rubber buttplate. Grip cap has a gold oval with initials “TAW”. It is fitted with ejectors & wide checkered sgl selective trigger. Receiver & forend iron are spectacularly engraved with a full side vignette of three flying pheasant in a woodland scene on the left, three flying ducks in a marsh scene on the right, with the balance having 100% peened background on action coverage, extremely well executed foliate arabesque patterns. Left side has the engraver’s signature “R. Dewil”. Top tang has “S”, “O” and “U” in gold. Engraving patterns, slightly different, extend up over the bbl reinforcements. Accompanied by a brown leatherette covered square corner case with green felt lined bottom and tan faux fur. Also accompanied by its orig Certificate of Identification, which is dated “31 January 1979”, and its Certificate of Proof along with all four of its test targets. Drop at the heel 2-1/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/4″. Bore restrictions: #1 top – .004, bottom – .004, #2 top – .023, bottom – .011. Weight: 6 lbs. 14.7 oz. According to research done by the consignor, the current costs from Browning shop to recreate this exact gun would be around $55,000. Owner states that this gun was never fired except for proofing. CONDITION: Extremely fine. As new, retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Blue is strong & bright and the stock finish has one or two light scratches, otherwise is exceptionally fine. Mechanic are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Appears to be unfired.
