RARE WILLIAM “BILL” SCAGEL MINIATURE HATCHET. Wonderful, tiny, forged, 1-pc hatchet, 10” overall length with 2-3/4” long head by 2-1/8 wide cutting edge. It has Scagel’s dagger trademark on left side. It has simple oval brass handguard with stacked leather handle with aluminum spacers & a small crown stag pommel with brass rivet. Bill Scagel (1873-1963) is considered the foremost pioneer of modern American custom knife makers. His products are in tremendous demand worldwide. CONDITION: Fine. Overall has light to medium pitting with hammer marks on back of head with evidence of ground edge. Handle is fine. 4-60702 JR428 (4,000-6,000)
