GALLE MARQUETRY STAND. Whimsical Galle stand has marquetry inlay on the top of a frog sitting next to tall slender leaves and playing a stringed instrument. The middle shelf has inlaid frog and leaves with the frog looking upward at a bumblebee. The bottom section of the stand is partitioned for magazines or records. The stand is unsigned but attributed to Galle. We have seen other examples of this frog design that were signed “Galle”. SIZE: Top 13″ sq. Stand 42″ h. CONDITION: Very good, with some minor warping to the top and some worm hole damage to the shelves and partitions. Stand has been refinished. 5-67924 (3,000-5,000)
