RUSSIAN CASED 7-PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE BY EGOR SAMOSHIN. Each piece hallmarked with Kokoshnik mark, smaller pieces marked “9A”. The holloware pieces marked “EG” and Samoshin in Cyrillic. The set consisting of: 5-1/2″ teapot; 5″ covered sugar; 3-1/2″ creamer; 6-1/2″ tea strainer; 4-3/4″ tea scoop; 5-1/4″ fork; and 5-3/4″ sugar tongs. The sugar, creamer, and teapot having cast decorative handles, gold wash interior, and a cutout decoration on its raised base. The other pieces with gold wash bowls and matching handles. The sugar tongs with waffle interior, slightly different handle. The oak case having a fitted velvet interior, the top silk lining with Russian writing. The top of the oak box has a presentation as follows: “Presented to Mr. & Mrs. Wragg as a token of their kind esteem by the Moscow Lace & Curtain Factory, Fletcher September 6, 1913″.
