The edge of the rim of the base may have been ground. If so it is ground evenly, all around.

GALLE CAMEO LAMP. Massive Galle lamp is beautifully carved with an Oriental Poppy design featuring flowers in various stages of bloom with much foliage against a camphor colored background that compliments the red, pink and orange design. Shade is signed on the side in cameo “Galle”. Shade rests on a Galle glass base with corresponding floral and foliage design against a light camphor ground and large saucer foot. Base is signed in cameo “Galle”. SIZE: Shade is 14″ dia. Approx. 30″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with minor roughness and scuffing to shade edge and grinding to glass neck of base that is concealed by hardware. Base is drilled through center of bottom where cord would come out. 5-67318 (15,000-25,000)
