RARE TRULOCK & HARRISS PERCUSSION DBL RIFLE. Cal. 4 or 6 bore. NSN. This rare rifle has 30″ heavy Damascus bbls with flat rib having a dovetail front sight & 4-leaf platinum line express rear sight. Maker’s name with the address “9 Dawson St., Dublin” is on the rib at the breech end. It is mounted in 1-pc walnut stock with checkered forestock with dbl wedges, straight grip, raised teardrop side panels, 14-1/2″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Lockplates hammers & trigger guard along with the top tang & breech end of the rib and the long stepped buttplate tang are all beautifully engraved with very fine foliate arabesque patterns. It has engraved platinum blow-out plugs & stalking safeties on the front action locks. Left side of the bbls is hand engraved with what appears to be Indian writing with numbers. It has a 2-pc patchbox on the right side, beautifully engraved with a large bull elephant, fine borders & arabesque patterns. Bbls & buttstock have sling eyes and there is no provision for a ramrod. Stock is cracked completely through the wrist, but easily repaired by a competent gunsmith. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls retain a mottled gray/brown patina with some Damascus pattern showing through. All the remaining metal retains a medium mottled silver/brown patina. Stock, broken as noted, is missing a sliver from the forestock with some battering behind the left hammer & retains dark oil stained finish about the forestock & wrist showing heavy wear.
