*VERY RARE CASED BROWNING MODEL CCS-25 SUPERPOSED DBL RIFLE. Cal. 270. SN 8L3PX64009. Spectacular & unusual over/under rifle with 24″ superposed bbls, ramp front sight and folding rear sight. It has ejectors & sgl selective trigger. Mounted with spectacular burl honey & chocolate Circassian walnut wood with Merkel style 3-pc forearm, full checkered with tulip forend. Stock has the very unusual swan neck style with raised side panels, 14-3/8″ over an invisible sole plate. Receiver, sideplates, trigger guard, forend iron & bbl reinforcements are high polish with royal blue finish and very tastefully executed gold wire inlay by master engraver Lucian Ernst, in Grade I1 Empire style. Serial number on the top tang is in tiny gold numbers. It also has a gold trigger. Ejectors, concealed parts of the forend iron and edges of the receiver are hand scraped. Accompanied by a brown leatherette, faux-fur, lined case that contains the orig owner’s manual and target along with the official certificate of identification dated “20 June 1984”. Also includes factory proof test target. According to research done by the consignor, the current costs from Browning shop to recreate this exact gun would be around $52,000 or more. Owner states that this gun was never fired except for proofing. CONDITION: As new, may have been fired but if so, very little. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Stock has 2 or 3 small creases in the finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. 4-57079 JR574 (25,000-50,000)
