UNSIGNED (First half of the 20th Century) A GIFT TO THE GODS. Outstanding linoleum cut with hand painted highlights. Scene shows two nude women, one raising a bowl of fruit over her head, the other in kneeling position bowing down. A water and mountain backdrop with a rayed green mottled background and water in oil paints. Unsigned. Found in Madison, Maine. Possibly from one of the Maine art students of the period and having a style reminiscent of Rockwell Kent. Housed in a gray painted oak frame. SIZE: 22-3/4″ x 20-1/4″. Total: 28″ x 25-1/2″. CONDITION: Some craquelure in the black parts of the linoleum, generally very good. 9-92921 (500-1,000)
