COLT M1861 NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36 perc. Usual configuration, 7-1/2” round bbl, case colored frame with silver-plated brass grip frame and 1-pc walnut grips. SN 17983. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, all matching except the wedge which is numbered to another revolver and is probably from a Colt Army or larger revolver. Bbl and lug retain 75-80% bright glossy blue with the balance flaked to a light patina with a couple of small gouges and some hammer marks by the wedge. Wedge screw is missing. Rammer lever retains 20-25% case colors, bright on the right side. Cylinder has traces of blue and retains about 90% naval engagement scene. Safety pins are mostly intact with one being partially smashed. Frame retains 15-20% faded case colors that may clean better. Screws have traces of original blue and are slightly battered. Grip frame retains 10-15% silver plating with the balance a light mustard patina. Grips are exceptional and retain 92-94% strong bright original varnish. Bore is strong with some shine and heavy pitting. 4-48897 JR685 (2,000-3,000)
