FINE AESTHETIC MOVEMENT CARVED PEDESTAL WITH BRONZE MOUNTS. Third quarter 19th century, in the manner of Herter Brothers, NY. Oval top with molded edge above a conforming frieze with incised and gilt decoration continuing to a stepped molding above a secondary frieze fitted with opposing drop panels, each centering a Neo-Classical bronze mask. Central urn flanked by columnar supports, the whole raised on angular stepped molded plinth, all with incised gilt decorated elements. SIZE: 46″ h x 23-1/2″ l x 15-1/2″ w. CONDITION: With original dark surfaces. Veneer on top rippled from moisture damage. 3″ section of secondary frieze absent. Otherwise good. 9-22367 (1,000-1,500)
