*HERBERT SOMMER CUSTOM BOLT ACTION AFRICAN RIFLE. Cal. 375 H&H Mag. SN10604. Spectacular Austrian Ferlach made rifle built on a dbl magnum Mauser action with 25″ tapered rnd bbl with ramp front sight with hood, 3-leaf gold line express sight mounted on a 1/4 rib (1 standing, 2 folding) with the folding leaves marked “25” and “50”. Receiver, bolt shroud, bolt handle, cross bolt, trigger guard, floorplate & grip cap have full coverage spectacular Germanic style engraving with flowing intertwined foliate arabesque & floral patterns. Receiver is coin finished as is the floorplate and grip cap. Floorplate has a wonderfully detailed raised platinum Cape buffalo standing under a plane tree with grasses in the foreground. Receiver is mounted with wonderful Return-to-Zero rings that contain a Swarovski 1-1/2-6X-42 scopes with 3-post reticle. Quarter rib sides are engraved to match the rest of the gun. It has a 4-rnd magazine and is mounted in a beautifully FIGURED straight grain walnut stock with black horn forend tip, raised side panels with straight comb & cheek piece, 14-1/2″ over a thin black pad. Bbl has a safari base & sling swivel with corresponding swivel in the stock. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. Has been fired, but retains virtually all of its fine orig finish to both metal & wood. Stock has one or two tiny mars in the surface. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Crisp optics. 4-57124 JR675 (9,000-15,000)
