*MAUSER PROTOTYPE LUFTWAFFE FIBERGLAS STOCK MODEL 98 RIFLE. Cal. 8 mm Mauser. SN 4111. Built on a 243 Code 1940 action with 24″ bbl, usual bbl bands, wiping rod, sight hood & sights. It has a “26” Waffenampt in three places on the receiver ring, twice on the bbl. It is mounted in a red colored Fiberglas stock & handguard with aluminum sling slot and a large “H” with a large & a small “211” Waffenampts all on the right side of the buttstock. Workmanship appears somewhat crude. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains most of a fine restored finish to the metal. Some of the numbers appear to have been re-stamped. It retains about all of its orig finish on the stock. Mechanics are fine, strong bore, frosty in the grooves. 4-57163 JR530 (7,000-10,000)
