FINE ROGERS BOWIE KNIFE. Early small Bowie with 6-13/16” spear point blade, 1-1/8” at ricasso with 3/16” thick spine. It has a tapered shank with applied handles & handguard and brass liners. Hand guards & sides of pommel are repoussed German silver with patterns of beads & scalloped half circles. Handle material appears to be checkered hard rubber secured with two rivets. Accompanied by its orig, gold embossed, leather sheath with German silver tip & throat. Throat has a frog stud on side. CONDITION: Blade is fine, lightly cleaned, retaining 40-50% orig polish. Handle is extremely fine retaining most of its orig finish. Sheath has a couple of spots of mouse gnawing, but is basically intact & sound retaining most of its orig gold embossing.
