SEVEN PIECE TEA SERVICE FROM THE REMINGTON FAMILY. Lot consists of seven pcs of Meriden Company silver-plate with beautiful cut foliate & floral designs with repoussed flower blossoms. Each pc is engraved in gothic letters “REMINGTON” with the additional date of “1877” on the tray. Center of the tray is etch-engraved with the vignette of an Athenian warrior goddess in a chariot being pulled by four horses accompanied by three cherubs and an owl, all surrounded by foliate & floral engraving. Set has two hinged lid teapots about 12″ high, a coffee pot about 13″ high, a covered sugar about 11″ high, a creamer about 7″ high and an open 2-handled spooner about 8″ high. Elliptical shaped tray is about 33-1/2″ long over the handles & about 20″ wide with flowing elliptical shape on the back, rounded on the front. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the “As You Like It Silver Shop”. Also included is a notarized statement from Marjorie Hoefler Kirkpatrick dated 7-21-99 providing the geneology for the provenance directly connecting her to the Remington family. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. One small dent and numerous light scratches on the tray, otherwise everything appears to be extremely fine.
