FINE NOCK FLINTLOCK FOWLING PIECE. NSN. 8 ga. 34” rnd Damascus bbl. Gold cartouches with “H / NOCK” on the lockplate and “H NOCK / LONDON” on top of the bbl. There is also a gold band inlaid at the rear of the bbl. The lockplate is plain with beveled edges. The hammer, bbl tang, triggerguard and buttplate are engraved. The ramrod has a brass tip and a covered ball screw at the other end. The straight grip stock is checkered at the wrist. CONDITION: Fine. 80% brown remaining on the Damascus pattern of the bbl. Casehardening on the lock and hammer have mostly silvered out. Triggerguard and buttplate have a bright appearance. Stock has been expertly repaired and refinished, but the checkering remains sharp.
