FRAMED 1913 REMINGTON UMC CALENDAR. Wonderful image by Carl Rungius of a stately walking bull moose in a mountain stream with forest & mountain peak in the background. Company logo is in the upper left corner & the artist’s signature in the bottom right corner. It has only the December calendar page remaining. It is archive mounted and matted in a wonderful beaded edged oak frame with cream colored mat. This calendar was part of the February 14 – May 16, 2004 “THE ART OF AMERICAN ARMS MAKERS” at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK and is from the well-known Jack Malloy Collection. Carl Rungius (1869-1959) was born in Germany & came to American in 1894 as an accomplished artist. He became one of America’s most famous wildlife artists in his own lifetime. He only did one other art work for an arms manufacturer & that was the 1904 Savage Arms Co. calendar. Accompanied by a copy of the art show flyer and the label copy from the art show. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Colors are vivid & bright with some yellowing of the calendar sheet & fading of the red logo & printing. 4-57185 JR727 (1,000-2,000)
