WONDERFUL EARLY ELEY CARTRIDGE BOARD. Housed in its orig early decorative oak frame branded with the maker’s name at the top “SPORTING” on the left side, “MILITARY” on the right side and “CARTRIDGES” at the bottom. Lined with a walnut or mahogany inner frame with a gray backing board. Mounted with about 90 rifle, shotgun & handgun centerfire & rimfire cartridges. It has two glass top tins of percussion caps, two of primer anvils & two of lead shot. It has the Eley crest & logo in the center surrounded by overshot cards with eight displays of felt wads. Bottom 4″ is a light blue band imprinted with silver lettering “C. & H. WESTON / GUN MAKERS / BRIGHTON & HAILSHAM”. Cartridges include several scarce rounds including the coiled 577-450 & what is probably Eley’s complete line of shot shells which include four window shells. CONDITION: Paper shot shells are somewhat faded as is the backing board. Brass & copper cartridges are all bright & clean as are the shot shell heads. Lettering is crisp & clean and the frame has a wonderful aged patina with a minor nick or two. 4-57007 JR736 (4,000-7,000)
