RARE MODEL 1890 SGL “W” WINCHESTER CARTRIDGE BOARD. Most desirable & hard to find of the Winchester cartridge boards, this one has its orig oak frame which is 51″ long x 38″ high, outside dimensions, with a gold painted gesso inner frame. It still has the orig backing paper with the orig label. Cartridges are arranged in the form of a large sgl “W” on a walnut colored background with large red “WINCHESTER” at the top & other red & white lettering at the top & bottom. Between each side of the “W” are large rnd vignettes of two Northwood’s hunters shooting a Winchester rifle on the left & the famous Remington style painting of a cowboy leaning over his dead horse shooting a ’73 rifle. Very center has the vignette of a dead mallard & canvas back ducks. Board contains 101 centerfire cartridges which includes the extremely rare orig 70-150. It also includes 41 rimfire & blank cartridges, 10 lead bullets, 7 paper shot shells, 5 brass shot shells & 6 glass top primer & cap boxes. CONDITION: Very fine. Board is completely orig with all of its orig cartridges, one or two of which may have been rewired. All the lettering is crisp & sharp but slightly faded as are the art vignettes. One of the rifle cartridges has a small dent & one of the paper shot shells is slightly scuffed. All the paper patches are dark. Cartridges are a little oxidized but all completely fine & 100% orig.
