REMINGTON HEPBURN SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 38 1-3/4″. SN 6029. Usual configuration with 28-1/4″ oct to rnd bbl, replacement sights, with very nicely figured American walnut wood, uncheckered forearm with metal tip & checkered rnd knob stock with smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains about 30% thin orig blue with the balance a smooth blue/brown patina with a couple of spots of light surface rust. Receiver retains 60-70% silvered casehardening with the balance a gray metal color. Top tang is missing the tang sight plug screws & has brilliant case colors where the sight used to be. Wood is sound & retains most of an old refinish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore with moderate pitting just in front of the chamber.
