CONFEDERATE COMMEMORATIVE QUILT. Patchwork quilt with elaborate needlework of flowers. One panel is signed “Greenwood, Co, S.C.” and dated “oct. 1905.” Each of the flowers are identified with either a Latin or English name. The panel in the center is marked “Reunion” and has crossed Confederate and American flags with various dates from 1865 to 1896. There is also a sword and a Winchester with the initial “R.C.S.” The front is all hand stitched with a solid red backing that is machine sewn. SIZE: 62” x 76”. CONDITION: Fine, except the lilies panel, which was done on black cloth, has disintegrated. 4-48852 FS187 (500-1,000)
