BUCK BROTHERS BOWIE KNIFE. 8” clip point blade with 3” sharpened false edge. Thin brass crossguard. German silver collar. Rosewood hilt with German silver dot decorations on the left side. Attached with two copper rivets. Marked “BUCK BROTHERS / CAST STEEL” on the left side of the blade and ricasso. The ricasso is 1-3/8”, unusually long for a knife of this size. The plain black leather scabbard has a narrow belt loop on the reverse. CONDITION: Blade has been cleaned and the marking is only partially readable. Crossguard has a dark patina. Hilt is cracked on both sides along a grain line, but is still solid. Scabbard has scuffing at the tip, back and belt loop. 4-58190 (7,000-9,000)
