*MARTIALLY MARKED WINCHESTER LOW WALL WINDER MUSKET. Cal. 22 Short. SN 131351. Standard Winder musket with 28″ rnd bbl, pedestal mounted globe front sight, no provision for a rear sight and has a Lyman receiver sight. Receiver is stamped “US” over a flaming bomb behind the hammer. It has straight grain American walnut wood with long forearm and sgl bbl band with grasping grooves and a straight stock with musket buttplate. CONDITION: Fine plus. Bbl retains about 95% orig blue, thin near the muzzle and thinning between the receiver & bbl band. Receiver retains 65-70% strong orig blue, flaked on the top tang & right side. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains a dark oil finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with some light pitting just in front of the chamber.
