*WINCHESTER LOW WALL SGL SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 22 WCF. SN 115609. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4″ #1 weight rnd bbl with standard front sight & Lyman tang sight. There is a slot blank in the rear seat & a drilled & tapped hole on either side of the rear seat, apparently for a scope mount. Wood is straight grain American walnut with black insert semi-Schnable tipped forearm & straight stock with crescent buttplate. Forearm & buttstock have early sling eyes. Entire rifle, including the wood, has a heavy coating of old dried oil or wax. CONDITION: As noted, fine. Bbl retains about 95% strong bright orig blue with one or two small spots of surface rust. Receiver retains 75-80% orig blue turning plum. Breechblock retains about 90% fading case colors. Stock has a hairline in the left wrist & two more back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Hammer does not cock on closing; otherwise mechanics are fine with a strong bright bore with light wear in front of the chamber. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55657 JR256 (600-1,000)
