11-1/2″ NICOLE FRERES SWISS 8-TUNE MUSIC BOX TOGETHER WITH THREE ADDITIONAL CYLINDERS IN ORIGINAL STORAGE BOX. Last quarter 19th century. The rectangular case with cast bronze handles and ebonized trim. The lid and sides with lignum vitae veneered panels housing the Nicole Freres mechanism. The box retains original “NICOLE FRERES” label together with the label of the retailer “WILLIAM WHITELY/Universal Provider”. Original damper is mounted above the comb. The three additional cylinders marked “52”, “168” and “170” mounted in an original walnut storage box. SIZE: 30-1/2″ l x 12″ d x 8-3/4″ h; Storage box: 20-3/4″ l x 11-3/4″ d x 5-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Mechanism appears in working order. No damage to teeth. Surfaces on box are old and original. The three additional cylinders with some minor discoloration and corrosion.
