22″ INTERCHANGEABLE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX WITH BELLS. Very large, beautiful and impressive music box in book-matched burled walnut case with double border inlay on top, sides and front. Ebony moldings and interior. Massive bronze handles on each side with a nice carved ivory escutcheon for key hole. Large double tune card that covers both cylinders of 12 tunes each. The movement has 15 bells held on with birds and struck by bees plus a 15 note reed organ. Single spring motor with ratchet winding handle. Music box and bells have beautiful tone, reed organ is not playing. SIZE: 51″ w x 16″ h x 22″ d. CONDITION: Case is in very nice original condition, there are minor scratches and dings on the edges but with minimal restoration would bring it back to near new. Mechanism needs cleaning and polishing and some damper work otherwise very nice. Reed organ will need to be re-leathered. 9-10631 (12,000-15,000)
