WHITNEY KENNEDY LEVER ACTION CARBINE. Cal. 44-40. SN P62. Small frame version with 20″ bbl, full magazine, square barleycorn front sight and a replacement, Winchester style, carbine ladder rear sight mounted backwards in the rear seat. It has a stud & ring in the left side of the receiver and there is an illegible inscription on the left side. Wood appears to be replacement and there is the number “151” stamped on the top tang behind the hammer. CONDITION: Fair to good. Wood as noted. Metal has been cleaned & artificially aged with wrench marks on the bbl and fine pitting on the receiver and heavy pitting on the magazine tube. Wood is sound and retains most of its custom finish.
