WHITNEY KENNEDY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 40-60. SN S718. Large frame rifle with 28″ oct bbl, full magazine, Rocky Mountain front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Wood is nicely figured uncheckered American walnut with straight grip and crescent buttplate with trap. CONDITION: About good. No orig finish remains with the metal being a medium gray patina with fine to moderate pitting overall. Bbl markings are all legible. Tang markings are partially legible. Stock has a hairline by the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Mechanics are fine, strong bore, dark in the grooves with moderate pitting.
