JAMES ABBOTT MCNEILL WHISTLER (American, 1834-1903) “THE LIME-BURNER”. Original etching shows a man in a factory setting leaning against a wall with ladders and sieve. Signed and dated “1859” in plate. Housed in a black wood frame with matte. Kennedy, 46. Affixed to matte only at top edge. SIZE: Paper: 14-1/4″ x 10″. Image: 10″ x 7″. PROVENANCE: From a private Rangeley, Maine home. CONDITION: Examined out of frame. Brown stain to lower and upper sections, some toning, two side tape marks under matte in margin. No rips or tears evident. 9-95012 (3,000-5,000)
