*COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). SN 268116. Blue and case colored with 7-1/2″ bbl, one line block letter address with orig thick front sight, two-line patent dates and rampant colt with circle. It has rampant colt hard rubber grips. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter from historian Katheryn J Hoyt stating this gun was shipped as a “Colt SAA, Serial number 268116, caliber .32/20, bbl length7-1/2”, blue finish, and shipped to Wyeth Hardware & Mfg Co, St, Joseph, MO on July 8, 1905”. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains about 90% glossy bright orig blue, thin on the left side. Frame retains most of its orig case hardening with bright colors in the very sheltered areas with the balance a mottled silver faded colors. Hammer retains strong colors on the sides and back with the top edge a dark patina. Backstrap has been cleaned bright with cleaned areas on the front strap and butt strap. Trigger guard and flats retain most of their orig blue. Cylinder retains about 85% orig blue, strong in the flutes, thin on the outer diameter. Grips show moderate to heavy wear, are turning chocolate and are probably from another revolver although they fit very well. Mechanics are crisp. Very bright shiny bore. This revolver has seen very little use but has been handled a lot and improperly stored. 4-57503 (4,500-6,500)
