RARE SPECIAL ORDER DELUXE MARLIN MODEL 1889 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 43954. Wonderful little rifle with 24″ oct bbl, ivory bead front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight that has been filed flat on top, missing the elevator. It has a Lyman tang sight & half magazine. It is mounted with extremely beautiful, about 4X, center crotch cut sunburst American walnut with matching grained forearm, “B” pattern checkered with serpentine pistol grip stock & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl & magazine tube retain 92-93% strong orig blue, slightly dull & thin near the receiver. Receiver retains 60-70% orig case colors, bright & strong in the sheltered areas, stronger on the left side. Lever retains about 50% case colors, strong on the left side. Hammer retains about 80% case colors, strong & bright on the left side & rear edge. Wood is sound with very minor nicks & scratches & retains most of its brilliant orig finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore with a small spot or two of very light pitting. 4-57125 JR657 (4,000-7,000)
