GILBERT GALUSHA MARANVILLE CALENDAR CLOCK. Third quarter of the 19th Century. The rosewood case with octagonal top mounted with a tin painted dial with numeral month, day and date dials and apertures. Marked beneath the month aperture “PATENTED BY/GALUSHA MARANVILLE/MARCH 5TH 1861”. The short drop with hinged door centering a round eglomise panel as pendulum viewer. The interior of base retaining original paper label of the Gilbert Manufacturing Co., Winsted, Connecticut. Clock is offered with pendulum and key. SIZE: 23″ h x 15-1/2″ w x 4″ d. CONDITION: Case with original polished surfaces, cleaned. Dial original with craquelure and with areas of paint loss, especially between the numerals 25 and 31. Movement not examined.
