ASSEMBLED CONTINENTAL SEAFOOD SET DECORATED WITH LOBSTER & CRAB. Mid 20th century. Comprising a deep bowl with lobster handle, the lid fitted to a conforming bowl decorated with three lobsters resting on their tails. Bowl height 7″ with lid, diameter 9″. The bowl marked with a floral stem within a shield outline above the numeral 15 in under-glazed gray. Set includes eleven 9 3/4″ diameter plates each decorated with an orange lobster over an ivory background. Plate marked “Germany” above an inverted triangle containing a flying heron in under-glaze blue. Eleven orange crab-form covered butter or sauce dishes, height 1 1/2″ x 4 3/4″. Marked with “PV Made in Czechoslovakia” in under-glaze gray. This set is offered with an additional butter/sauce dish lid. CONDITION: The bowl very good with minor small chips beneath feet. Plates in very good condition. The sauce dishes are all very good with the exception of one with large chip in rim of bowl. 9-97553 (600-900)
