Correction: The description is correct; however, prior to 8/19/11 the photo for this lot was incorrect. This photo now matches the description. LOT OF THREE PIECES OF EARLY BLUE HISTORICAL STAFFORDSHIRE WITH AMERICAN SCENES. 1) A 6” high pitcher of “Lafayette at Franklin’s tomb”, unmarked but probably by Enoch Wood & Son. 2) A scarce 5-1/4” h gravy boat, “The Landing of Lafayette”, probably by Clews; it depicts the landing of Lafayette at Castle Garden, New York, 1824. 3) A 6-1/2” high pitcher depicting the “Boston State House” with “New York City Hall” and attributed to Joseph Stubbs. SIZE: As noted above. CONDITION: 1) The underside has a small ancient repaired hole. 2) Structurally fine, strong blue transfer, slightly discolored. 3) Various cracks. 9-23408 (1,250-1,750)
