WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 37619. Standard rifle with 24-1/4″ oct bbl with Winchester markings, full magazine, German silver front sight & a replacement 2-leaf rear sight. Wood is straight grain walnut, uncheckered, with straight grip & crescent brass buttplate with trap. Trap contains an orig 4-pc. brass & iron wiping rod. Forend cap & buttstock have what appear to be orig type sling swivels. CONDITION: Fair to good. Bbl & magazine tube retain a dark heavy patina under a very heavy coating of old dried oil. Receiver edges are rounded with possible two replaced screws and it has numerous light nicks & scratches. Forearm has a crack at the back end and several black oil stains. Buttstock has a couple of cracks back of the top tang and another at the toe and all the wood retains an old refinish. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with light to moderate pitting.
