NEO-CLASSICAL EMPIRE DORE BRONZE FIGURAL SHELF CLOCK. 19th century. Depicting a male robed angel seated on a square pedestal housing a circular cast brass pierced dial set with enamel Roman numerals and time and strike apertures. The twin barrel eight-day brassworks simply marked with the serial number 1656 all mounted on a rectangular plinth cast with a rayed sun mask flanked by nude crouching angels joined by ribbon-tied scrolls pouring wine and serving grapes, raised on cast bust feet. SIZE: Ht 17 1/2″ W 13″ D 5″ CONDITION: The figural angel missing object in hands, the right side of plinth facing missing an element. The dial missing three numerals, the clock missing winder, pendulum, and bell. In “as found” condition with original patina. 9-97419 (600-800)
