*SMITH & WESSON 1917 U.S. REVOLVER. SN 126170. Cal. 45. 5-1/2″ round bbl. Half moon front sight, top of bbl is marked “Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. U.S.A./Patented Dec. 17. 1901 Feb. 6. 1908. Sep. 14. 1909”. Left side is marked “S. & W. D.A. 45”. Standard Smith & Wesson large frame with fixed sight, with six-shot cylinder, serial numbered to gun. Bottom of grip frame is marked “U.S./Army/Model/1917”. Lanyard ring followed by serial number. Equipped with two-piece after market ivory grips. Accompanied with black police swivel holster marked “Safety Speed/Holster/Montebello Cal.”. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl shows traces of original blue that is mixing & blending with brown and silver patina. Frame shows original blue in protected areas mixing with brown and silver patina. Cylinder shows original blue toning to gray. Trigger shows good, original case colors with hammer a mix of brown and silver patina. The ivory grips are modestly fashioned and fit and have a tea-stained coloration. Mechanics are crisp with usual amount of cylinder end shake, good bore with some moderate frosting. 9-21835 (350-750)
