COURTNEY ALLEN (American, 1896-1969) THE HUNTERS. Oil on board illustration scene shows five hunters at the edge of a lake in a snow covered area trying to hail down a passing boat. They have recently shot and dragged to the edge a large buck. Each is outfitted with woolen jackets and pants. Signed lower left. Housed in an ebonized gesso decorated frame. The back board has wood cradle. SIZE: 17-1/4” x 37”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-71401 (1,000-1,500)
