16″, (41 CM), BRU SMILING FASHION DOLL ON WOODEN BODY. Pressed bisque head on kid-lined separate shoulder plate both incised with the letter “E”. She has pale blue thread paperweight eyes, closed mouth, pierced ears, nicely feathered eyebrows; the body is fully articulated including wrists, waist, and ankles. It is attached to the shoulder plate by the original leather collar with scalloped edging. She wears and antique human hair braided with over cork pate, and has been excellently re-costumed in a two-piece blue silk walking suit trimmed at the collar and sleeves with ecru lace. The dress is signed by the dressmaker, (Wakeman). The undergarments and stockings are white antique cotton, and she wears what could be her original brown leather shoes impressed on the soles “2” and a logo consisting of two boots. CONDITION: There is no damage to any of the bisque parts, the body retains its original finish with only minor typical paint wear and slight chipping to the inside fingertips on the left hand. 1-7215 RS (3,500-4,500)
