FEODOR RUCKERT ENAMELED DRINKING CUP. Circa 1884. This fine marked example executed by the silversmith Feodor Ruckert (1840-1917) active with Faberge from 1887. The cup with everted rim continuing to a tapering cylindrical body on a flaring circular footed base. The silver vessel decorated overall on the exterior with polychrome enamels in the champleve manner. The marks of the silversmith are in the center of base (see photo). Feodor Ruckert was one of Faberge’s workmasters and he was the only one who had also his own studio,with a permission from Faberge to work independently. His initials F.R (in Russian) can be seen on cloisonne enameled objects, near the mark of Faberge, made in the Moscow studio, sold by Faberge. SIZE: Ht 4 1/2″ Diameter 2 1/2″ CONDITION: Very good overall with minor and minimal roughness to enameled surfaces on base rim.
