SHIRAZ ORIENTAL ANIMAL RUG, SOUTHWEST PERSIA. First quarter 20th century. The central diamond pole medallion in a blue-black field with an overall design of flowerheads, animals and birds. The field with two large clawfoot animals in camel, each with large teeth and curled tail at both the upper and lower extremities within a camel angular wave boundary, the ivory main border with repeating pears. SIZE: 4′ x 2’7″ CONDITION: With overall wear, low in several areas and with losses to ends and repairs to weave of one corner. Otherwise, good. 9-97051 (800-1,200)
