WHIPPLE PERCUSSION TARGET. Cal. 40. 25-3/4” octagonal bbl, marked “T.S. WHIPPLE / CAMBRIDGE VT / GAIN TWIST” on the top flat of the bbl, partially covered by the rear sight extension. The lock is marked “LEMAN / LANCTRPA”. Thaddeus Whipple worked in Cambridge from 1865 to at least 1879. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall with vise marks, light pitting and some signs of cleaning on the bbl. Stock is smooth. Action is fine. 4-52604 FS47 (600-1,100)
