UNSIGNED (19th Century) “RELIABLE FISHING QUARTERS”. Oil on canvas painting copied from Mr. J. B. Wandesforde’s (Juan Buckingham Wandesforde American, 1817-1902) painting of Reliable Fishing Quarters. This inscription is found on the back of the canvas. Scene shows two gentleman fishing in stream pool with cascading water over rocks and waterfall behind. Scene is flanked by tall trees with an area of blue sky with white clouds. Housed in a period gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 20” x 24”. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting having several canvas patched to reverse. 9-74535 SM (1,000-1,500)
