BROWN HALF STOCK TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 44. 23-3/4” oct bbl with bullet starter, marked “O. BROWN / PORTLAND ME” on the upper left flat, “CAST-STEEL” on the left flat. Otis Brown worked in Portland from 1852 to 1859. The rear sight has been broken and soldered and the elevator is missing. CONDITION: Smooth brown patina with filled dovetail at the rear of the bbl. Stock is generally good but some heat damage on the left side at the butt. Action is good although the set trigger needs to be adjusted. 4-52603 FS46 (600-1,200)
