AESTHETIC MOVEMENT CARVED WALNUT PIER MIRROR WITH MARBLE SHELF. Last quarter 19th century, American. The rectangular mirror plate within a molded gilt surround flanked by engaged burled columnar pilasters surmounted by a molded and incise carved frieze, the carved crest in the form of a chalet roof. The white marble shelf beneath the mirror plate above a leaf carved frieze with pendant finials. The four paneled base carved with clusters of cattails and reeds. SIZE: 90-1/2″ h x 24″ w x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Wood has been excessively cleaned, gold gilding in need of reapplication. 9-21192 (300-500)
